Frequently asked questions about insurance platforms
What is an insurance platform?
An insurance platform brings together, in a single system, the building blocks needed to carry a policy end to end: distribution, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management and claims. It replaces the usual stack of a legacy system of record, pricing spreadsheets and separate extranets. Korint is a modular insurance platform used by insurers, wholesale brokers and MGAs.
What is a modular insurance tool, and can you deploy only part of it?
Yes, and that is precisely the definition: a modular insurance tool is deployed brick by brick. You take underwriting alone, pricing alone or claims alone, and connect them through APIs to what you keep. Korint has five modules, usable on their own or together, which avoids having to replace everything at once.
How do you migrate an insurance administration system without interrupting production?
By taking the business domains one at a time instead of switching everything over on a given date. The new platform interfaces through APIs with the systems of record in place, takes on one product, one line or one network at a time, and the legacy system empties of its uses before being unplugged. That is Korint’s deployment approach, and it removes the risky go-live day.
How is AI used in an insurance platform?
In three ways: carrying out the repetitive servicing tasks (cancellations, endorsements, chasers, consistency checks), assisting underwriting by correcting errors and spotting inconsistencies, and making portfolio data queryable in plain language. At Korint, those agents act within a scope defined by the client, with human validation wherever it is required.
Can an insurance tool connect to an insurer’s in-house AI agents?
Yes, through the MCP protocol. Agents built by the insurer or the broker reach the platform directly: they read the portfolio and trigger servicing actions. Products also become distributable from partners’ AI assistants. That is what Korint’s AI Connector is for.
How long does deploying an insurance platform take?
From a few weeks to a few months depending on scope, against twelve to eighteen months for a classic replatforming project. At Korint, average deployment is 45 days and launching a simple product takes about a month and a half, because products, pricing rules and journeys are configured rather than developed.
What security and compliance guarantees should you expect from an insurance platform?
At a minimum: ISO 27001 certification, a SOC 2 Type II report, GDPR compliance, hosting in the European Union, a contractual SLA and complete event traceability for audit. Korint brings those together and operates its data and its processing in Europe.
